My Small Moment Video Project

My Small Moment Video Project

I made this small moment air hockey video in my Video Editing class as a junior in high school. This is the first video I made for the class. I decided to play air hockey with my brother for my video because I knew that it would be a fun time. I also did it this way because I thought that it would be fairly easy to get different angels for shots and I thought it wouldn’t be too hard to edit the video.

I am proudest of the angles I found to get different types of shots in my video. I tried to get a variety of shots by getting overhead shots, further away shots, and then closeup shots. The shots I like the best are the shots right next to the corner of the table. It takes the viewer right to the action.

I think that the most challenging part of the project was editing the video in places where the puck is in similar places. I didn’t want to use the same shot the whole time, but it was hard to find spots in the footage where I could blend the shots in. I tried to solve this problem by using the overhead shot so I had a little more leeway with the position of the puck.

If I could do this project again I think that I would spend more time look for even more angles. I would also try to find things in the room that I could use as cutaway. I would also try to get someone else to play with my brother so I can just focus on shooting. it was fun to play, but as a result I had five videos that were each about six minutes long. It was hard to get what I wanted from each video and it took a while to find what I wanted.
