I made this video as a Junior in high school for my Video Editing class. The class was tasked with “Choose Your Own Adventure” project. All that means is that we could do whatever we wanted for our video. About a week before this

project was due I had no clue what I was going to do. I had thought about making a cooking video, but there had already been a lot of those videos made during the class. That was when I went to YouTube to find a video idea. I

rewatched one of my favorite videos, “Will it Taco?” on Good Mythical Morning. The two co-hosts of the channel put a variety of different foods, both good and bad, in taco shells. This got me thinking about mixing different drinks and seeing how they taste. My brother is in this video again because he still owes me and also because the video was so last minute that I didn’t really have any other options.

I am proudest of the editing that I did. I didn’t get very many camera angles for the video so I had to fake a few and I had to try some other things to avoid having too many jump-cuts. I used some Ken Burns effects to show my reactions of my brother and I. This helped with avoid jump-cuts as well as emphasizing the funny reactions. I am also proud of the idea for my video. I think that it was a very unique idea and that my brother and I made the video entertaining.

I think that the most challenging part of making this video was editing with only one camera angle and trying to minimize the number of jump-cuts in the video. Another challenging part of the video was trying to get the mustard and apple juice drink down. I tried to swallow it, but it was the worst thing I have ever drunk. Another challenging part of making this video was finding the right volume for the audio. My brother and I were a little too far away from the camera so I had to bump up the

audio a little bit, but depending on what device I watched the video on the volume was different.

If I could do this project over again the first thing I would do is get different camera angles. I could do this by using my brother or my mom’s phone along with using my own. This would have made me do more work in the editing phase of the project, but I think that my video would have been much better. Another thing I would change is how many rounds of the game we did. I originally didn’t know how long each round would take so I had 10, but I had a lot of footage so I chose 4 rounds to edit. Lastly, I would make sure that mustard and ketchup didn’t show up in any of the drinks. Putting condiments in some of the drinks was by far the biggest mistake made in the making of this video.
