I made this commercial in my Video Editing class as a Junior at Lincoln Lutheran. Our assignment was to make a 30 second commercial about something school related. I decided to make a commercial about our baseball team. I chose this because no one really knows a lot about the baseball team. Part of this is because we never actually play in Lincoln as we Co-op with Wahoo so even our home games are away games for us. I thought making a commercial for the team would be an interesting and fun way to promote the team. I also knew that getting footage of a game would be easy because I have to stay to watch part of the JV game.

The part of my video that I am most proud of is that I had clips of a lot of different things. I had clips of pitching, hitting, fielding, and throwing before the game. I also think that the sound I had and the overall editing of the video were very good. You could hear the bat hit the ball in the hitting clips and the throwing and catching clips had good sound too. It wasn’t too loud to distract from the voiceover, but it was loud enough that I didn’t have a clip without sound.

One thing that I don’t think I did too well in my video was the beginning shot of the two hats. I think that it was a good shot, but I could have had a better beginning shot. I also think that my voiceover could have been done a little better. The information I had was good, but I don’t know if I would call it persuasive.

If I could do this project over I would definitely change a few things. The first thing I would do differently is get shots from different spots in the stadium. This could have been done the first time, but I filmed it after my game so I was just lazy and stayed in the same spot the whole time. I would try to get shots of the team in the dugout, shots of the field from inside the dugout, and I would also try to get more shots from inside the netting. Shots from on the field would have looked really cool, but that really wasn’t an option. Another thing I would do is get my own pictures of Sam Crawford Field. The pictures I found were good, but I think a shot of the actual field would have been good.
